Description

Highland Park remains the most northerly whisky distillery in Scotland, although not by much, as it is little more than a stone's throw from fellow Orcadian, Scapa. Accounts of the distillery's genesis vary, and the truth is probably lost to the mists of time, but it is thought that a local farmer named David Robertson founded what we now know as Highland Park distillery in 1798, on the site of an illicit still. This 25 Year Old expression is matured in a combination of first-fill sherry seasoned European and American oak casks, and refill casks, in the temperate Orkney climate, resulting in a whisky with immense depth and vibrant sweetness.

Deeply fragrant, with notes of peach, satsuma, pistachio biscotti, crushed coriander seed, aromatic oregano, crème brûlée, citrus zest, and delicate heathered peat smoke.
Palate
Silky and full-bodied, delivering spicy coriander seed, oregano, sweet vanilla, gentle peat, dark fruits, lemon marmalade, crystallised orange, dark toffee, camphor, chestnut honey, and leather.
Finish
Long and satisfying, with sweet and woody notes, a faint citrus peel, soft smoke, oak, and a touch of honey and orange syrup.
