Description

The Highland Park 10 Year Old Ambassador's Choice is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Orkney Islands, bottled at 46% ABV. This expression was chosen by Highland Park's Danish brand ambassador, Martin Markvardsen, and was originally released exclusively for the Swedish and wider Scandinavian markets before becoming more generally available. It is aged for 10 years in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon barrels (approximately 70%) and ex-Oloroso sherry casks (approximately 30%), resulting in a whisky that balances rich vanilla and sherried notes with Highland Park's classic maritime and lightly peated character. It is non-chill filtered and has no artificial coloring.

Mild with dusty honey, maltiness, fresh red berries, and spice. Fruitiness with strawberries and plums, a small peat note, and a salty note. Sweet elements, toasted cereal, barrel spices, and a touch of peat. Citrusy, bitter-sweet, with toffee, heather, and a subtle coastal salinity. Vanilla, pineapple, smoky mango, roasted nuts, and bonfire smoke.
Finish
A mix of leathery peat and dark fruits like ripe plums and raisins, accompanied by honey and vanilla. Discreet oakiness with hazelnuts. Quite short, showing apricots, slight peatiness, and allspice. Moderate length, dry with reminders of sweet malt and lingering smoke. Bitter, citrusy lemon, sweet toffee, floral peat, ash, orange, and nuts.
