Description

Founded by Andrew Dewar Rattray in 1868, A. D. Rattray began trading as an importer of French wines, Italian spirits and olive oil. Today the company's principal purpose is to promote the Stronachie, Cask Islay and Bank Note brands and bottle unusual and exclusive casks of Scotch whisky as part of the A D Rattray Cask Collection range. This Highland Park was matured in a Sherry Butt, Cask Number: 580, and bottled at 56.2% ABV.

Nose
Sturdy and sweet on candied oranges and hazelnuts, with hints of nougat, heather, and a grassy note. Slight peaty notes with delicate smoke.
Palate
Powerful and spicy, immediately honeysweet. Licorice, salt, burnt treacle with a hint of tobacco. Fruit, espresso with whipped cream, sugared apple skins, and chocolate. Cinnamon and cloves.
Finish
Fairly long, sweet and spicy, remaining juicy.
