Description

Highland Park Cask Strength Release No.2 is the second release in the Cask Strength series from the Orkney-based distillery. It is matured predominantly in sherry seasoned European & American oak casks and a small quantity of ex-bourbon casks, hand-selected by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion. It is bottled directly from the cask at 63.9% ABV, without chill-filtration, to ensure its essential DNA and natural color remain intact, delivering an extraordinary depth, complexity, and balance of flavors.

Palate
Sweet and spicy with notes of poached pear, rich almond cake, cloudy honey, salty liquorice, caramel, ginger, cinnamon, and peppery undertones, complemented by toasted oak, baked pineapple, crystallized ginger, and heathery smokiness.
Finish
Long and satisfying with lingering notes of toasted oak, orchard fruits, black pepper, sweet aniseed, sweet smoke, dried fruits, and aromatic spices.
