The nose sets dark cherry and pressed apple against nutmeg and winter smoke, giving the fruit a gently savoury edge. On the palate, the notes narrow to juicy fruit and spice, then garden mint joins the lingering fruit and spice in a long finish. I like that the character moves from a clear contrast into a more focused continuation, rather than piling on unrelated flavours. The documented details make this an appealing, composed single malt, with enough smoke to distinguish it without making smoke the whole story.

The juicy fruit and spice sound inviting, while dark cherry, nutmeg and winter smoke give it a more distinctive edge. I like that mix of generous fruit and gentle smoke; the garden mint on the long finish adds a fresh final note.

Dark cherry, pressed apple and winter smoke give this a distinctive direction, while fruit, spice and garden mint carry through to a long finish. That mix sounds inviting, and the notes make its character easy to picture.

Dark cherry and winter smoke make a more interesting pairing than the cask label alone might suggest. Juicy fruit and spice carry through to a long finish with a hint of garden mint. At 51.9%, the strength catches my attention, but the flavours earn the score.
