Description

The Highland Park Loki 15 Year Old is the second release in Highland Park's acclaimed Valhalla Collection, a series inspired by Norse mythology. This limited edition single malt whisky, aged for 15 years, mirrors the unpredictable and shape-shifting character of Loki, the trickster god. Matured in a mix of sherry and heavily-peated casks, it offers a complex and intriguing profile with evolving flavors, combining sweet, smoky, and spicy elements. It is presented in a distinctive wooden frame resembling a traditional Viking longship.

Nose
Salty banana bread, sultana and raisin breakfast bars dropped into a bonfire, buttery gingernut biscuits, smoked toffee. Spirited lift of dried orange, lemon peels, cardamom, gingerbread. Red apple, peat, malt, brine, wine gum.
Palate
Spicy tropical fruit, buttery sultana loaf with smoked marmalade with hints of ginger and waxy notes. Waxy texture amplified by intense smoke, liquorice, rich spiced apple flavours, lemon and grapefruit. Big peat starts, then sweetness quickly overtakes, strawberry, plum, smoky and salty.
Finish
White chocolate, smoked banana toffee, aromatic spices, charred pineapple. Toasted cloves, hickory smoke and soft vanilla. Spices, peat & oak add a dryness, with mild peat smoke, black pepper, and gentle ash.
