Description

Highland Park Shiel is a rare and highly collectible island single malt Scotch whisky, released as the second expression in The Keystones Series. This special limited release of 1,200 bottles celebrates traditional whisky-making methods, crafted using barley that was 100% hand-turned on Highland Park's historic floor maltings, a process that usually accounts for only 20% of their malt. This unique bottling highlights the importance of traditional malting techniques and contributes to the whisky's distinctive character, enhancing the distillery's signature balance of honeyed sweetness and gentle peat smoke. It was exclusively available to members of the Highland Park Inner Circle.

Aromatic and inviting, with notes of honey, heather, citrus zest, soft peat smoke, and vanilla, alongside hints of spice and floral tones. Heather pollen and liquid honey, with caramelised oranges, sweet malt, a hint of oak and a drift of smouldering heather.
Palate
Rich and balanced, offering flavours of malt sweetness, orange peel, gentle smoke, toffee, and warming spice, with a smooth texture. Smooth, sweet, slightly salty then dry, with toffee, traces of spice (cinnamon, ginger) and a twist of smoke.
Finish
Medium to long, with lingering honeyed sweetness, soft smoke, and subtle oak spice. Rich and smooth.
