- Nose
- A wonderful nose, full of restrained, heathery peat smoke, forest mushrooms, coastal freshness, dry waxy notes and more subtle aromas of beach pebbles, gorse, heather honey and sweet menthol – a super-classical Orcadian malt. With water, notes of vapour rubs, camphor and menthol balm, wintergreen and many other medicinal herbal vibes, plus hessian cloth, cedar wood and deeper, firmer, drier peat-smoke notes.
- Palate
- A slightly grubbier, more 'in yer face' peat profile, along with chamois leather, boiler smoke, bonfire embers and a big, hearty, waxy texture. With water, a rich and superbly creamy, mouth-filling texture, along with a wonderful combination of heather honey and peat smoke, more gorse flower and more waxiness.
- Finish
- Lingering peat smoke with a rich, creamy, mouth-filling body and notes of heather honey.
