Description

Highland Park Thorfinn is part of The Warrior Series, released in 2013. It is named after Thorfinn, a Viking chief known as 'The Mighty' who ruled over the Orkney islands. This single malt is described as a dynamic and masterful example of Highland Park, intricately balanced yet bold, with complex swathes of gentle peat smoke meeting rich caramelised dried fruit and unctuous oakiness. It is a super-premium, travel retail exclusive, created to showcase the impact of cask type on the whisky's flavour.

Nose
Delicate and soft with mild oak, soft peatiness, honey, dried fruits, camphor, dark chocolate, exotic spices, cedarwood, mango, coriander, spicy smokiness, vanilla pods, and an earthy aroma of smoke with sherried orange peels and freshly brewed coffee.
Palate
Smooth and well-integrated with fruits, spices, delicate peat, honey, wood, polish, fresher fruit, citrus sharpness, wispy peat, menthol or eucalyptus, warming oak spiciness, ginger, rich caramelised dried fruit, unctuous oakiness, dark chocolate, bruised mint leaf, gingerbread, smoked meats, toffee, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of salinity.
Finish
Very long and lingering with dark chocolate, eucalyptus, camphor, hints of burnt caramel, a slightly oaky and dry character, spicy notes, honey-drenched dates, and a subtle whisper of smoke.
