Description

This Highland Park 18 Year Old Viking Pride Travel Edition is a special travel retail exclusive, bottled at a higher marrying strength of 46% ABV compared to the standard 18 Year Old. It is crafted from a marriage of 120 specially selected casks and matured in a high proportion of first-fill sherry seasoned European and American oak casks. This results in an intense, spiced-up, rich, and sweet single malt whisky with notes of heather honey, chocolate, and cherries. The packaging is inspired by the distillery's Orcadian roots and Viking ancestry. It has received numerous awards, including 'Best Spirit in the World' by F Paul Pacult.

Sweet honey, vanilla, dried berries (apricot, raisins, figs, cherries), orange peels, chocolate sponge cake, nutmeg, cinnamon, subtle smoke, charred oak, heathery peat, citrus, and a touch of saltiness.
Palate
Thick, oily, viscous. Honeyed backbone, wild sweet honey, fresh and dried fruits (berries, cherries, apples, raisins, papaya), spicy white pepper, earthy peat, bonfire embers, citrus peels, vanilla, sultanas, chocolate, toffee, espresso, and a zingy touch.
Finish
Medium to long length. Honeyed citrus, peat smoke, oak spice, vanilla, white pepper, drying, hazelnuts, dark chocolate, coffee beans, smoked red berries, cut herbs, thyme honey, sherried peels, dried barley, and lingering oak.
