Description

The Hwayo X. Premium Single Grain Whisky is an exciting discovery from South Korea, combining traditional Asian distilling art with modern whisky philosophy. Produced by the Hwayo Distillery, known for its high-quality soju, this premium whisky is crafted with care and craftsmanship. It is a single grain whisky made predominantly from Japonica short-grain rice, aged for five years in American oak barrels, and then finished for six months in traditional Korean ceramic vessels called ongi.

Smooth, fruity with delicate rice notes, bananas, apples, cucumber, hints of lemongrass and mint, vanilla and oak. Also notes of minerality, blackcurrant, tinned peaches, citrus peel, toasted grains, and slight caramel.
Palate
Sweet, vanilla, toffee, honey, baked apples, banana bread, buttered toast, fresh herbs and oak. Rich and rounded with desiccated coconut, buttery caramel, brown sugar, and a light, elegant, and refined taste.
Finish
Medium long, slightly floral, with notes of vanilla, sweet cereals, rice, baked apples and oak. Rich and smooth, with blackcurrant, caramel, and a hint of ginger.
