Description

A historic brand of Kentucky straight bourbon, currently produced by Diageo. It was originally devised by the Bernheim brothers in 1872 and despite a period where it was only available in export markets, it has been in production ever since, even bottled as medicinal whiskey during Prohibition.

Nose
Delightfully light with fruit notes of blueberries, raspberries, cherries, and sweet vanilla crepes. Hints of light oak, dusty oak, peppercorn, leather, and baking spice are also present.
Palate
Smooth and mellow with fruitcake and berries, licorice, dry oak, and leather. Sweet notes of vanilla wafers, honeycomb, caramel, and baking spice are balanced by chocolate and toasted oak.
Finish
Short to moderate, with lingering berry compote, drying oak, tobacco leaf, graham cracker pie crust, cinnamon, and cardamom. Sweetness carries through with caramel, crème brûlée, and a hint of rye spice.
