Description

The Ikawa Distillery Single Malt Dessin Series Fauna 2025 is a peated whisky from Ikawa Distillery in the Southern Alps of Japan. It is the second release in the Dessin series, which showcases different whisky styles produced by the distillery. The whisky is made from malt with phenol levels of 50 ppm and 30 ppm, blended with malt aged in first-fill bourbon barrels. Water used in production is from the highest spring in Japan. This release is part of the 'Flora & Fauna' range, with Fauna representing peated whiskies inspired by animals, specifically the Rock Ptarmigan. The distillery, founded in 2020, is located at 1,200m above sea level in Shizuoka's Southern Alps, making it Japan's highest altitude whisky maker.
