Description
The Ileach Peated Islay Malt is a peaty single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery, bottled by The Highlands & Islands Scotch Whisky Co., a subsidiary of The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. It is known for its robustly peaty character and unmistakable breath of the seashore. Jim Murray described it as an overwhelming, big malt with limited oak, calling it 'fun stuff' and a 'rare chance to taste a high-quality peaty malt.' It won a Gold Medal at the 1999 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
