Description

A coastal malt distillery located outside Speyside town of Buckie. It was built in 1871 and notably acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons in 1938, becoming a key component of its Bell's blends. It remains primarily in service to blended Scotch brand today as part of the extensive Diageo portfolio. One of Scotland's most iconic and long-running independent bottling brands. Introduced by Gordon & MacPhail. Inchgower is a less well-known single malt whisky distillery, finding favor amongst whisky makers for its versatility and well-balanced profile.

Nose
Toffife and Werther's Original, Scottish Tablet, brown sugar melting on warm creamy porridge and Twizzlers Black Licorice; some dark fruits, chocolate fudge and orange Starbursts. Delicate notes of fresh citrus, tropical fruit and a creamy, malted milk chocolate note.
Palate
More Toffife and Werther's Original with soft earthy leather, chewy malt and molten brown sugar; creamy vanilla, overlaid by sherry notes, black Twizzlers, dates and figs with very gentle spices, moving towards Christmas cake and musty dunnage notes of old European oak. Robust notes of dried fruit, roasted nuts, winter spices and chocolate, with a hint of citrus.
Finish
Medium long, big and very sherried; fading fudgy chocolate, dark fruits and leather; spices emerge late. Menthol and chocolate with hints of raisins.
