Description

A limited edition single grain Scotch whisky bottled by Compass Box to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2010. This release is from a single American white oak cask distilled at Invergordon distillery in 1971 and matured for 38 years. It was bottled in October 2010, with only 144 bottles released. The bottle is signed by John Glaser, the founder of Compass Box.

Nose
Closer to a good bourbon than a grain whisky, with nice leather and banana notes, toasted oak, wood glue/varnish, vanilla cake, fruity notes (figs, cherries), hints of roasted coffee beans, minty overtones, and a little coconut.
Palate
A fruity start with pineapple and tangerine, then mint and resinous oak. Vanilla and a good dose of nutmeg, evolving mostly on herbal notes (sage, eucalyptus, menthol).
Finish
Long, with more menthol notes, pine sap, and peach.
