Description

The Isle of Harris distillery started in 2015 with just 10 people and had the ambition to double over the next five years. Today they have over 50 employees which is quite a high number since less than 2000 people are living on the island! The Hearach is the first single malt whisky from the Isle of Harris with eight different batches being released. Every batch is made with the same recipe but there are subtle, natural variations between each which reflect the casks chosen and the length of time the whisky is 'married'. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and natural colour, matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, oloroso, and fino casks. The whisky is lightly peated at around 12-15ppm.
