Nose
Impressive and charming, with wood polish, boiled lemons, slight asphalt smoke, wood resin, steamed wood vines, and hints of Chinese medicine. Aged aromas of dried fruit, oak, subtle smoke, raisin cookies, old wine, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla, walnuts, baked apples with cinnamon, dark fruits, floral, oaky, and juicy peat smoke.
Palate
Smooth, rich, complex, and mellow. Notes of longan water, grain, sherry influence, burnt rice, boiled wood vines, earthy tones, and developing smoke. Silky smooth mouthfeel with soft barley, spicy and pronounced peatiness, baking spices, rich caramel, and vanilla.
Finish
Lingering and moderate to long, with major burnt rice, a slight oily mouthfeel, Chinese herbs, slightly drying, smoked plum, preserved ginger, a faint bitterness, cinnamon, cloves, rich oak, and vanilla.
