Description

John Walker & Sons is a dormant subsidiary of the global drinks giant, Diageo, and its Johnnie Walker whiskies are its sales-leading brand. In addition, John Walker & Sons is also a brand name used by Diageo to market premium and prestige blends, elevated in price and stature from the regular Johnnie Walker stable. This limited edition was released to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Royal Warrant granted to John Walker & Sons by King George V in 1934. It is crafted using only the finest whiskies from distilleries that were operating during King George V's reign (1910 – 1936), including precious stocks from the now-closed Port Ellen distillery.

Nose
Spicy and rich with hints of vanilla, brandy butter, Christmas pudding. Slightly nutty with notes of ground almond and blossom. Hints of stewed fruit, toffee, wood smoke, and a light touch of earthy peat.
Palate
Fruity, creamy on entry. Creamy notes of caramel, manuka honey and a hint of very refined wood smoke. Allspice and nutmeg develop. Bittersweet dark chocolate and peanut brittle. Rich notes of honey, figs and blackberry jam. Hints of spice and leather.
Finish
Nutty finish with a surge of salt caramel and biscuity malt. Long, surprisingly smoky, salty, spicy finish.
