Description

Located on the West Coast of Scotland is the Isle of Jura, where the red deer population outnumbers the human population by 5000 to 200. The island lies only 60 miles from Glasgow, (as the crow flies), yet can take rather a long time to reach. It consists of one road, one pub, one distillery and one shop and is often described as remote. The Jura 10 Year Old is a well-balanced entry in the Jura range, relaunched in 2018. It is matured in American White Oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Oloroso Sherry butts, offering a sweet, smooth whisky with subtle smoke and fruitiness.

Honeyed barley and peaches in syrup, with light wafts of fragrant wood smoke, vanilla, orange, cracked black pepper, dark chocolate.
Palate
Oily and subtly spicy, with notes of earthy vanilla pod, chocolate-covered raisins, nectarines, ginger, coffee, toasted almonds, caramel, orchard fruit, light oak, and a hint of sea salt.
Finish
Mellow, with lingering vanilla, a whisper of smoke, medium length with some spices, and a little bit of honey.
