Description

This limited bottling is part of a series of multi-vintage Karuizawa from the distillery's final years of production, each bottled at cask strength and labelled with a different image from the Fugaku Sanjurokkei or 36 Views of Mount Fuji print series. The series of Japanese woodblock prints were created by artist Katsushika Hokusai in the 1830's, and proved so popular that an additional 10 views were added shortly afterwards. This is the twenty-fifth edition, featuring the print Shimomeguro.

Series highlights
A long-running series of Karuizawa bottlings from Eric Huang's Hua Yang International Exhibition Co. The series was produced between 2015 and 2021 and each of the thirty-six bottlings is labelled with a different artwork from the 36 view of Mount Fuji collection by Japanese ukiyo-e artist, Hokusai.
Historical context
Karuizawa distillery closed in 2000, and this bottling is from its final years of production.
