Description

The highly collectible 2nd release from Karuizawa's Cask Strength series, exclusively released for the Taiwanese market. A vatting of re-racked casks of finest Single Malts from the final two vintages 1999 & 2000 from Karuizawa Distillery which have been matured in Sherry Butts before being bottled at 61.7% ABV in 2013.

Nose
Great elegance and charm, with very pleasant and lovely aromas of ripe Honeycrisp apples, apple pie with vanilla ice cream, butterscotch, and cherry jam in the distance.
Palate
Balanced and rich flavors with medium viscosity. The 60.1% ABV is controlled, showing masterful balance. Notes of cinnamon apples, stewed ginger, rancio, old leather-bound books, a touch of dark chocolate bitterness, unburnt tobacco, leafiness, and balanced confit plums.
Finish
Elegant and long-lasting, with fading ginger, baked apples, gentle malt, more complex rancio fade, and gentle dark chocolate towards the end.
