Description

The Karuizawa distillery, located in Miyota, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, at the base of the active volcano Mount Asama, was established in 1955 and closed in 2011. This 15-year-old single malt was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2007 from an American oak sherry butt. It was released as part of the 'Whisky Magazine Editor's Choice' series, gaining cult status after the distillery's closure.
