- Nose
- Rich and brooding with aromas of dried dates, polished mahogany, incense, and hints of black cherry and damp earth, along with smoky and sweet entry, sticky dark dried fruit like fig, date, prune, thick tobacco leaf notes, stewed fruit, pears and apple in thick syrup, old polished wood benches, waxy and zingy with ginger and toffee, and black tea.
- Palate
- Deep and layered, offering flavours of dark chocolate, fig jam, cigar box, and black tea, underpinned by a firm oak spice. Spicy and malty with sweet sherry and berries, mouth coating with delicious thick and sweet date and fig, covered with dark, rich chocolate, wild honey, toffee and tobacco and dark tea leaf (Lapsang). Ample polished oak, a bit dusty and waxy, with a touch of pepper, cinnamon, and earth, maybe mocha too.
- Finish
- Long and warming with lingering notes of burnt orange peel, old leather, and dry sherry tannins. Quite woody, with more chocolate sprinkled with cinnamon, tobacco leaves, and a bittersweet combo going on for a long time.
