Description
Karuizawa Single Casks. Karuizawa Distillery was established in 1956 in the foothills of Mount Asama, an active volcano. It was Japan's smallest distillery, producing whisky in tiny stills, and using only 100% Golden Promise barley. It was also the highest distillery in Japan at 850m. The characteristic 'light' style of Karuizawa whisky is due to the use of small stills, long fermentation times and the exclusive use of high-quality sherry casks for maturation. Made in the traditional Scottish style, Karuizawa whisky is now highly sought after by connoisseurs around the world.
