Description

Matured in top quality special edition Oloroso sherry casks, Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry is bottled at the distillery, without any colouring or chill-filtration. It is a naturally smooth and rich whisky with a complex character. Clean and complex with multiple layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices, it has some marzipan and vanilla touches to it as well. Taiwan's extreme tropical heat accelerates the whisky's interaction with the wood, rapidly developing a richness and complexity that can take decades in cooler regions. This is a true cask strength bottling, delivering the Oloroso cask's influence directly to your glass—raw, intense, and pure.

Nose
Clean and complex with multi-layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices with some marzipan and vanilla touches to it as well. Expect dark berries, plum, grilled pineapple, cocoa powder, espresso, and vanilla pod.
Palate
Rich, oily and full with pleasant dried fruit and spices that linger on in the mouth plus a hint of fine coffee. Raspberry coulis, dark cherry, stewed stone fruit over caramel, milk chocolate, and brûléed sugar. Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and roasted coffee develop.
Finish
Long and indulgent, carrying dried fig, raisin, and berry jam into cocoa, espresso, and gently drying oak. Black-tea tannin, baking spice, and lingering chocolate remain on the tongue.
