Description

Kentucky Owl Confiscated Bourbon is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that pays tribute to the barrels seized by the government from C.M. Dedman, the founder of Kentucky Owl, just ahead of Prohibition in 1916. This release, first available in April 2019, marked the brand's shift from limited batches to national distribution across all 50 U.S. states. It is bottled at 48.2% ABV and does not carry an age statement. The brand was revived by Dixon Dedman, great-great-grandson of the founder, and is now owned by Stoli Group.

Ambiguous dark sweets, roasted grain, clove and nutmeg spice, oak, vanilla, orange circus peanuts, pine, fruit. Also graham crackers, citrus, toffee, muted sweet cinnamon spice, white grape notes, hint of cayenne, sweet baked goods, honeysuckle, pipe tobacco, red berries, dates, cinnamon covered peaches, homemade vanilla ice cream, root beer, chewy caramel candies, tobacco, seasoned oak.
Finish
Medium, dessert sweet, grainy and oaky. Also light, short, undistinguished, warm, reverberating, slightly bitter, dry leather, cinnamon spice, aged oak, long, complex, enjoyable, vanilla, creme brûlée, orange zest, cedar, fresh bread, bubble gum, black pepper, honey, and charred oak.
