Description

Kilchoman, which came online in 2005, was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 124 years - and it has garnered a sterling reputation in its short lifespan. This 2008 vintage Kilchoman was bottled just 9 days before its 5th birthday and was released especially for The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show 2013.

Nose
Typical soft peat aromas, lime and pear drops, complex for age. Heather, light vanilla, meadow flowers, mint, spicy, peaty lime.
Palate
Sweetness first, soft peaty smoke and ripe fruity notes. Sharp initially, then gentle with syrupy vanilla, white pepper, alcohol, heather, peat, sweeter lime, and candy sweetness.
Finish
Long and delicious. Peat is clean, strong, and slightly ashy, with Islay heather, oak, vanilla, and floral notes.
