Description
A very interesting concept release from Kilchoman, the Comparison series contrasts two casks of very different spirit: a standard heavily-peated malt from Port Ellen maltings and Kilchoman's medium-peated 100% Islay barley. These single cask whiskies were filled a week apart in 2012 and matured for 8 years in first fill bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace before bottling on the same day in February 2021. Cask 726/2012 is the heavily-peated 50ppm edition of Kilchoman's Comparison Series, made with Kilchoman's standard barley from Port Ellen maltings. Just 259 bottles were yielded from the cask at 55.4%. [4]
