Description
Kilchoman, which came online in 2005, was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 124 years - and it has garnered a sterling reputation in its short lifespan. In particular, the use of a forward-thinking yet expensive wood policy has meant they have achieved a quality mature period at an early stage by using a high standard of cask. With everything being carried out on site, from floor malting to bottling, this is a small batch Kilchoman 2008 Islay single malt whisky released by the distillery at the 2012 Islay Festival as Kilchoman's Feis Ile bottling for that year. Bottled without colouring or chill filtration, this 2008 Kilchoman came from a small batch of sherry finished casks and was a limited edition of 439 bottles at a powerful natural cask strength of 58.5%.
