Nose
Very peaty with a dry start, oily notes, soot, ashes, developing into bandages, brine, buttered toast, and vanilla. Also warm aromas of coffee sponge cake, hazelnut cream, maple syrup, candied orange, ripe banana, cinnamon powder, and a smoky cereal roast with coastal veins, unripe apple, lemon, and brine.
Palate
Sweet and malty with peppery hotness, sweet peat, soot, medicinal notes, soft vanilla, and baked apple. Cereal and malt notes grow with nuts (peanut skins, hazelnuts), woody and maritime evocations, coffee candy, cooked cream, spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper), macaroons, and lemon peel. The smoke becomes medicinal with a strong marine component.
Finish
Rounder with apple notes, very long and peaty, slightly grassy. Also malt, citrus, pine needles, burnt wood, burnt caramel, and balsamic notes.
