Description
Kilkerran 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is produced at Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland, one of the region's historic distilleries revived by the team behind Springbank. The distillery, originally operating between 1872 and 1925, was acquired by J&A Mitchell in 2000 and reopened in 2004. The single malt is sold as Kilkerran because the Glengyle name was trademarked by a former owner. This whisky is crafted using traditional floor-malted barley, lightly peated distillate, and copper pot stills. It is matured for 12 years in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks, creating a balanced profile of coastal Campbeltown character with sweet malt, oak spice, and subtle smoke. It is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration.
