Killowen distillery lies amongst the Mourne mountains in Northern Ireland, and is Ireland's smallest distillery. Using old-style techniques such as flame-fed stills and wormtubs, combined with particularly small stills (1000 and 800 litre), they produce a range of spirits including gin, poitin, dark rum and single pot still whiskey. This release is part of their Bonded International Series, featuring a 3-year-old oat whiskey sourced from Belgrove Distillery in Tasmania. The mash bill for the Belgrove Oat is 70% un-malted oats, 5% un-malted wheat, 5% un-malted barley, 10% malted barley and 10% malted rye.
