Description

This Killowen Signature Rum & Raisin is a 5-year-old Single Malt Irish Whiskey, sourced from Great Northern Distillery in County Louth. It was initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels for 5 years, then finished in a combination of Killowen's own dark rum casks and Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry butts. This limited release of 990 bottles is non-chill filtered, has no added colouring, and is bottled at cask strength.

Palate
Sweet and juicy green apples, dark sugar, dried fruits such as raisins, sultanas, figs, cinnamon raisin compote, syrupy dark fruits, fig and wine reduction, chili powder, cardamom, coconut, and vanilla.
Finish
Caramelised demerara sugar, toffee apple, red apples, ground almonds, Christmas cake, cardamom, chili, bananas foster, fresh vanilla bean, lemon lime candy, chocolate covered raisins, ginger, black pepper, and charred sourdough bread.
