Description

Kirin Fuji Single Grain Japanese Whisky is a creation from the Fuji Gotemba Distillery, known for its expertise in grain whiskies. It is a blend of three types of grain whiskies: a bourbon-style, a Canadian-style, and a Scotch-style, achieving a balance of light, cereal, rich, and intense aromas. The whisky is aged 100% in American White Oak barrels and is non-chill filtered. It has an average age of 8+ years and was awarded a gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2020. The distillery, founded in 1970/1972, is located at the foot of Mount Fuji and uses its meltwater.

Rich with baking spice and thick slabs of fudge, with banana and hazelnut in support. Floral notes, pear pie, candied chestnut, orange peel, pomelo, green grapes, cinnamon, licorice.
Palate
Dark chocolate, red berries, orchard fruit, cedar wood. Poached pears, apple compote, dark chocolate, spicy touches of cinnamon, toasted rye bread. Orange marmalade, raspberry, spiciness of rye, bitter chocolate. Gentle, with orange fruit jam, lemon.
Finish
Mellow and sweet. Scents of tannins and incense. Hint of exotic incense wood, moderate to long aftertaste.
