Description

A Speyside malt distillery and one of several in the Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo. The distillery is synonymous with the J&B brand, having first been assigned to Justerini & Brooks in 1962. Despite its importance to the legendary blend, it also has a long-serving single malt brand. This particular bottle is a Knockando 1976 vintage, bottled in 1989.

Nose
Caramel, salted figs, toffeed leather, and floral celery are all elements of this very complex nose. There's a small hint of sulphur too.
Palate
The delivery is surprisingly light given the rich nose and the depth of sherry-infused colour. There are still some tropical fruit notes, however soon the caramel, tobacco, take control.
Finish
A very floral finish riding over caramel undertones.
