Description

Knockando 21 Years Old Master Reserve 1990 is an exceptional Speyside single malt. It has been drawn exclusively from carefully selected old oak casks, where the whisky slowly matured for a minimum of 21 years. The result is a single malt of great depth and smoothness, balancing rich fruity aromas and delicate oak flavours with a long creamy finish.

Nose
Ripe fruits like red apples, bananas, oranges, and mango, alongside dusty vanilla, thick vanilla custard, and a touch of oak. Notes of marzipan, maltiness, heather, red berries, and raisins are present, with hints of brown sugar, rum, and a subtle spiciness.
Palate
A musty and dusty start with a touch of spice, leading to thick maltiness and notes of old bookshelves. Honey, anise, and muted ripe apple fruitiness emerge, with hints of old wooden planks. Less sweet than the nose, it also offers raisin, prune, leather, bitter chocolate, grassy, herbal, and cinnamon notes.
Finish
Lingering notes of fruitiness, heather, ripe apples, honey, and anise, transitioning to oakiness with a slight bitter tone. Grapefruits and orange peel can be detected, leading to a long and pleasing finish with herbal notes, mint, eucalyptus, and spices.
