Description

Kyrö is the first Finnish rye whisky distillery. It was founded in 2012 by a group of friends who got the idea… in a sauna. Seriously. The distillery is located in an old dairy in Isokyrö. Honeyed apricot and sultana, baked earth spiciness, a hint of chocolate and coffee. Sweet oranges, milk chocolate, and toasted seeded bread. Pepper, vanilla, caramel, dried fruits, rye spice, citrus, and Nordic herbs.
Palate
Rye bread with Seville orange marmalade, blueberry, vanilla, black pepper and dark chocolate. Sweet rye bread, honey, and wild berries. Spicy rye, citrus, vanilla, and Finnish character. Rich orange oil, dark chocolate, full-on spiced rye bread, tart berry flavours, earthy and spicy.
Finish
Spiciness of the rye balanced by toffee and quince. Smooth finish with caramel and mocha. Medium-long, spice-forward. Fiery spice combo of clove, ginger, and black pepper.
