Description

Kyrö Peat Smoke combines the Finnish terrain with Kyrö's Rye Whisky, using 100% Finnish Malted Rye that is smoked using Finnish freshwater peat. The full-grain rye malt is peat smoked in a barn for a period of 24 hours, resulting in a distinctive mossy peaty flavor. This unique rye whisky is vatted together using mainly Kyrö Peat Smoke New American oak and ex-bourbon barrels, with additional Kyrö Malt ex-bourbon barrels, with exact proportions varying batch by batch. It offers a captivating character that epitomizes the rugged beauty of the Finnish wilderness.

Nose
Damp, vegetal peat brings notes of moss and dried leaves, joined by toffee apples and a smidge of black pepper.
Palate
Sweet notes of honeyed pumpernickel, candied oranges and lemons, and toasted spices are backed by dampened bonfire ash.
Finish
Waxy hints of snuffed candle and charred herbs join peppercorn spice for the finish, with a trickle of honey sweetness standing firm.
