Description

Signatory Vintage, founded by Andrew Symington, is one of the largest independent bottlers in Scotland. This 'Rare Ayrshire' bottling refers to whisky from the Ladyburn distillery, which was an expansion of the Girvan grain distillery built in 1963 by William Grant & Sons. The Ladyburn malt whisky distillery operated from 1966 to 1975, when it was dismantled, making its bottlings incredibly rare. This release is part of the Cask Strength Collection and was matured in a Bourbon Barrel.

Nose
Apple and citrus aromas, with some slightly sour/musty oak, creating a light and vibrant profile. Soft nutty notes, mint, and a hint of pepper.
Palate
Starts spicy and slightly malty (fresh bread) before becoming fresher and more vibrant with lemon and lemon balm. Quite sweet (pink grapefruit, a little pineapple). Nice development with clear oak and a soft nuttiness.
Finish
Half fruity, half grassy, not too oaky.
