Description

Launched in 1997, this 'finished' range from Diageo sees the Classic Malts enhanced in carefully chosen wine casks. These limited release bottlings are a wonderful alternative view of some of the world's best loved whiskies. This Lagavulin 1988 Distillers Edition was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2004, having been double matured and finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It is a rich, peaty malt with a sweet undertone, characteristic of Lagavulin's intense peat flavour and notes of sea-spray, complemented by sweet accents from the Pedro Ximenez cask wood.
