- Nose
- Deep and smoky, with notes of peat smoke, sea spray, citrus zest, vanilla, and light oak, alongside hints of spice and sweet malt. Waxy, sweet and fruity, with apricots, peach, bitter lemon peel, and a nice minerality. Some tar, oily, dirty & sweet diesel, caked sea salt, charred driftwood, drying kelp, ground black pepper, and lightly bitter licorice. Sweet dried raspberry and fresh lemon juice, a vegetal and earthy peat, and sweet herbal/leafy smoke. Creamy, tropical, with banana, yoghurt sweets, and pineapple.
- Palate
- Full-bodied and balanced, offering flavours of smoky peat, caramel, malt sweetness, dried fruit, and warming spice, supported by refined oak. Massively oily, loads of dank earthy peat and cracked black pepper, and a buttery sweetness. Pepper-crusted smoked bacon, more dirty diesel & charred oak, more kelp, and a light medicinal balm note. Soft, creamy, and malty. Barbecued pineapple and charred salty meat, sweet tropical fruits, a nice hint of mango. A peppery arrival that goes hand in hand with subtle peat smoke, sauerkraut, and porridge. Somewhat briny too, as well as green olives and charred lemon.
- Finish
- Long and warming, with lingering smoke, maritime notes, soft spice, and gentle oak. Black pepper & dank, oily, earthy peat again. Softens with a nice salted root vegetable note. Flashes of creamy vanilla, sweet banana, dried raspberry, and more lemon juice. Salt-laden peat and that balm/ointment note carry on for quite some time. Elegant and long, with smoked ham, tropical fruits, cream, pineapple, and a sweet aftertaste of struck matches. Lingering vegetal peat, banana, and herbs.
