Nose
Complex with peat smoke, brine, and sweet undertones. Notes of soft white fruits like peaches and pineapples, along with sea salt, diesel smoke, mint, vanilla, and sometimes tropical fruits like mango and cinnamon.
Palate
Gentle tarry notes with fruits, honey, caramel, apples, and pears, as peat slowly emerges. Oak and salt are present, followed by milky barley. It can be soft and delicate with smoke, seaweed, lemon citrus, and tropical fruit, or feature peat, rubber, licorice, bitter orange, and black pepper.
Finish
Long and rewarding with lingering tropical fruits, tarry peat, seaweed, and a hint of citrus. Balanced with oak, smoke, and salt, sometimes with chocolatey and vanilla notes, or intense tar and smoke with a dry, bitter end.
