Description

This is a commemorative edition of the Laphroaig 18 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, released in Summer 2012 to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. Matured for 18 years in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels, this limited edition bottling consists of 3,000 bottles. Laphroaig donated £3,000 from the sales of this bottle to the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.

An instant warming tang of smoke fades into smooth floral scents, blending seamlessly into an oaky nuttiness, with flavours of spicy cinnamon, freshly baked apple tart, sweet chocolate smoothness, rich toffee, and a delicate hint of heather and peat smoke.
Finish
Full bodied, long with a luxurious oily smoothness, vanilla and wood spice, leading to a few tannin notes and a lasting peaty finish, with hints of buttered asparagus and cherry cough drops.
