Description
Laphroaig was founded in 1815 by two brothers from the unassuming Johnston family on the south coast of Islay. Named after the location that the distillery itself was created upon, the name loosely translates to the 'broad hollow by the bay'. In 1994 the Prince of Wales awarded it the Royal Warrant, an accolade attested to no other whisky on earth. This Limited Edition bottle is one of just 105 with the 'Craggs Label', drawn from a cask of Laphroaig 15 year old and presented to HRH The Prince of Wales to mark his 50th birthday. The Prince signed the cask during his visit to the distillery in 1994 and donated it to the Erskine Hospital 2000 Appeal, of which he is the Patron. Three labels were produced for this limited edition of 270 bottles, with 105 for this 'Craggs Label' version.
