Description

This Laphroaig 21 Year Old was bottled by Cadenhead's, one of Scotland's oldest independent bottlers, as part of their 'dumpy' series. It was imported by Sestante, an Italian independent bottling company established by Ernesto Mainardi in 1977. This is a very rare and sought-after bottle. [8, 24, 27]

Nose
Delightful aroma with sweet vanilla, honey, and lemon. It presents sweet peat smoke with medicinal notes, evolving into fruity notes of peaches, citrus (oranges and lime), pineapples, and mango, offering a tropical and rich profile with a briny edge. [7, 28, 31]
Palate
Extremely rich and well-balanced, starting sweet and smoky with tar. It is slick and smooth, revealing fruity notes of lime, oranges, and tropical pineapples, with smoke cutting through. Hints of cured meat, BBQ, and ashes are present, with a peppery and salty kick. [7, 28, 31]
Finish
Perfect and long-lasting, becoming sweeter with thick, honey-like caramel sauce. It offers tarry smoke, oak spice, and lingering maritime salinity, though it may flatten out a bit too soon. [7, 28, 29, 31]
