Description

This Travel Retail Exclusive Laphroaig, part of the Cask Collection, is a tribute to the distillery's founding in 1815 and its rich heritage. It was inspired by the robust whiskies of that era. This no-age-statement single malt was initially matured in first-fill, second-fill, and over-charred bourbon barrels, before undergoing a secondary maturation in virgin European oak hogsheads. Bottled at 48% ABV, it combines Laphroaig's distinctive peaty character with notes of charred raisin and caramelized dark fruit.

Nose
A powerful blend of smoky peat, spicy notes, and a hint of sweet caramel, followed by dried fruit and a fine oak note. Whiffs of signature peat smoke with burnt apricot and raisins, old leather and moist charcoal.
Palate
Full-bodied and rich, with intense flavors of dark chocolate, red apple, spices, and an elegant sherry sweetness that combine perfectly with the smoky peatiness. Peat smoke with soft, spicy oak notes and caramelized dark fruits followed by nutty notes and juicy dried fruits. Broad and soft oak, rich caramelised dark fruit and a lively dried fruitiness.
Finish
Long and warming, with a lasting peat note accompanied by a fine oak and vanilla note. Smoke and wood treated with oil, with lingering nuts and peat.
