Description

While not named on the bottle itself, the "Williamson" name is known to be produced at the Laphroaig distillery and is used by some independent bottlers. The name "Williamson" is a tribute to Bessie Williamson, who was the manager (and later owner) of the Laphroaig distillery. A world-renowned Islay distillery, famous for its distinctive character of its heavily peated spirit and it has one of the longest-serving single malt brands. This 2014 Williamson (widely understood as spirit from the legendary Laphroaig Distillery) delivers everything fans of the style adore. Famous for its intensely medicinal peat, sea-sprayed character, and rich, oily texture, Laphroaig remains one of the most distinctive distilleries in the world.

Nose
Big bonfires, ash and char aplenty. Smoky bacon crisps, sweet maple syrup.
Palate
Ashy rockpools, then autumnal spice, dried leaves and charred seaweed.
Finish
A long, epic beachy, bonfire night on Islay. A great unashamedly ashy dram with robust Williamson character yet nuanced with estery fresh barley characters.
