Description

This gorgeous Sherry matured 18 year old Islay single malt was laid down at the Laphroaig distillery in March 1999 and bottled for Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular series in February 2018. Drawn from refill Sherry butt number 12419 at a natural cask strength 56.8% ABV, this is one of just 323 rare hand-filled bottles that comes complete with wooden presentation box, glass stopper decanter and COA.

Smoky peat and sweet vanilla aromas with notes of soft toffee, gooseberry, bbq smoke, charred meat, grilled pineapple, mango, oyster shells, lemon zest, basil oil, cheesecake, dried seaweed, iodine, embers, bonfire, rubber boots, rock pools, and cereal notes.
Palate
Flavours of spicy cinnamon, freshly baked apple tart, oily sea spray, macadamia nut brittle, vanilla ice cream, smoked cheese, languistine, papaya, grilled pineapple with char, flambayed apricots, peach segments, crystalline ginger, TCP, lemon juice, barrel char, coastal peat, mango, peach, sweet rock candy, and soft white pepper.
Finish
Full-bodied fruitiness alongside herbal notes of fresh mint and peaty notes. Medium to long finish with discrete earthy smoke, medicinal salves and bandages, subtle spices, sweetness, and fruitiness.
