Description
A Lowland malt whisky distillery located opposite the 12th century Tironensian abbey of the same name on the outskirts of Newburgh, Fife. The earliest known record of Scotch whisky distilling is connected to the abbey via Friar John Cor in 1494, and the modern distillery was opened in 2017. This single malt was produced in 2018, using barley grown entirely in Fife, and fermented for a lengthy 119 hours. It was filled into a cask that previously held Kentucky's Old Forester Bourbon and opened in June 2022. [2, 4]
